save the date for elizabeth and christopher’s june wedding at the fabulous hotel du pont in delaware. elizabeth asked for an ‘antique-chic’ save the date that was both elegant and unpredictable. we achieved elegance with the metallic ivory paper and classic diamond pattern. the horizontal format, mix of vintage fonts, playful wording, banner, and distressed ink all make this design a little quirky and unexpected.
we carried the metallic gold onto the matte eggplant envelope with the return address and calligraphy by melanie from gracefully addressed.
elizabeth is a girl full of ideas! she came to us with pages of inspiration and thoughtful sketches of her vision. she is documenting all of the details of her wedding planning process with a personal blog — we especially love the post about the save the date transformation. we also thought it would be interesting to share this and for others to see the process from start to finish!
