this past weekend we celebrated GD50, a commemoration of 50 years of graphic design at our college, the university of the arts. chey was asked to party chair the event with dee by her side to design and set up for the big day. it was an intense 18 months of design and collaboration with fellow alumni to make it all happen…a full weekend of exhibits, workshops, symposium and party. the party was a success…guests were greeted outside by rumble (a bucket-drum ensemble) and entered into a red-lit sixties cocktail space where they enjoyed a beer tasting by st. benjamin’s brewing co. after cocktail hour, they entered into main event space for dinner, which was glittered with cafe lights and a mix of red and white paper lanterns. entertainment for the night included sword fighting and a quartet interspersed with activities such as live screen printing, memory wall and photo booth. our role in the event was such an honor and it was overwhelming to see all of our past professors and reconnect with new and old alumni. WE ARE HERE.
