work wednesday: david's bar mitzvah.

david and his mother, randi, were referred to us by rachel’s mom, debbie, to create all the materials for his bar mitzvah at the philadelphia hilton city avenue. debbie was assisting with the party planning and we were thrilled to be able to work with her again! we had a ball at our first design consultation brainstorming their theme — david was hysterical! even though he is only thirteen, he enjoys watching old hollywood movies and comedians. so his theme became a night starring david! they loved the old movie poster invitation we designed a few years back for raina + brian and wanted us to customize it just for david. he decided he was going to wear a blue bow tie that night, so that became the icon of the package. the poster included a silhouette of david wearing his top hat, bow tie and cane and even a tear-off reply ticket. it was folded and w
rapped with a white satin ribbon and finished with an admit one ticket tag! they were mailed to guests in black #10 envelopes with a custom address label and bow tie postage stamp. we also designed some corresponding thank you notes with his name front and center!
