the intern's aesthetic: zen

hello lovelies!
i had the pleasure of visiting the shofuso tea house in fairmount park with my package design class. we are currently designing tea packaging inspired by japanese culture. this trip to the japanese house was extremely eye opening in the country’s aesthetic and beliefs. a huge emphasis is on the zen that nature brings to your life. the japanese practice tea ceremonies that honors nature and the good things in life. on a beautiful fall day, it was easy to appreciate the gorgeous view of shofuso and appreciate the ancient art of the japanese tea ceremony. not to mention, we got to feed these cute koi fish that are a symbol of a long, hearty life.
