easter brunch.

looking for some table setting inspiration for easter sunday?! this pretty easter brunch eye-candy was created by the team over at beautiful blooms events. we were asked to create a sweet, simple, martha-inspired invitation for the styled shoot held on the grounds of the horticulture center. check out the rest of marie labbancz’ photos on style me pretty’s little black book!! happy easter!

happy valentines day! and there is reason to celebrate… anthro’s new wedding line, bhldn, launched their site today! it is filled with the most beautiful, nostalgic, and romantic gowns, shoes, hairpieces and jewelry you have ever seen.

trip to terrain.

some photos from our fun little field trip to terrain at styer’s last friday! we went for a tour of the grounds and had lunch at their delicious cafe with elizabeth nettles, terrain’s very talented event planner.
if you haven’t been — you must go. it’s located in glen mills, a quiet town about 45 minutes from the city. the indoor/outdoor space is beautiful — the greenhouse is over a century-old — the plants are so exotic and perfect. we wandered for hours checking out all of their raw and refined treasures. we left with only a fern and some colored pencils made from twigs, but bags full of inspiration.

between phillies post-season, flu-season, and danielle’s own wedding season we have slacked a bit on blogging. we have so many new projects to share!

we’ve been on some inspiring field trips as well. below are some shots from our studio tour of two paper dolls — the well-known design group, based out of wayne, pa, who specialize in custom invitations. we had the honor of hearing the oh-so-inspiring owner + creative director, vanessa, tell her story of how she got where she is today. we left there with some big dreams…
check out their amazing studio and work…
meeting area.
the most delicate + beautiful laser cut we’ve ever seen.
assembly area.
demo on their original vandercook press.
this is the end result of that demo — a little graphic design humor.

large love letters.

as you ride the el above…you will soon read some tales of love. a friend just told us about the latest series by the mural arts program of philadelphia called a love letter for you. these are the sweetest murals that can be seen from the windows of the sometimes dreary ride on the el train through west philly. they are so bright and funky — what a perfect spot for an engagement or wedding photo shoot! one of our brides, elizabeth, from peacock feathers, is looking into it…

logs everywhere are getting beautified with the help of jessica hische — local designer, illustrator, and amazing typographer — whom we adore. check out dailydropcap to download an illustrative initial cap. you will see that jessica has challenged herself to designing 1 unique letter a day. she is currently on the letter ‘g’ and has a ways to go before we are lucky enough to own the entire alphabet. usage limitations are included on her page.

design a t.

warning: you will be addicted! one of my absolute favorite illustrators that I commissioned for an exhibit project at the museum is leigh wells. she sent me this fun site where she and a few other well-known illustrators have posted endless images that you get to mix and remix to design the perfect t-shirt. check out this tee I ended up with — pretty fitting after a trip to central america. have fun remixing!

friday night we attended a fabulous birthday/4th bbq at our friend allie’s house. good times! we also both purchased (thanks dave!) some amazing new necklaces created by brielle. they are so unique…and totally matched our outfits perfectly!!! here are some photos by our friend sue (whose shots are always fabulous)
