we look forward to designing + printing alison conklin’s family holiday card each year. as we are getting into the holiday card rush for this fast approaching season, we realized we never shared this one from last year! alison’s beautiful photos of her sons were digitally printed on the front and back double ply cranes lettra. the front also featured blind deboss, blue letterpress and aqua foil stamping on top of the photo. the card was mailed out in a mustard yellow envelope with bright address label. the wallpaper of words printed on the envelope liner and blind deboss section of the card were all of the experiences their family was grateful for that year. this included her cover feature on martha stewart weddings ahhh, along with her son’s appearance on chopped junior! sounds like a pretty good year to us!

as virginia residents, one of julie and mark’s favorite places to visit is george washington’s mount vernon. they love the front view of the historic house and wanted to incorporate it into their holiday card with a few additional holiday elements. so we collaborated with the talented mandy holt, of myrtle & lloyd, who brought their festive scene to life complete with christmas trees, snow covered grounds and santa flying into the night sky!
for the 2015 holiday season, dee and pat teamed up with photographer alison conklin to create a personalized card to send to loved ones. their double-sided 5×7 cards, which included an adorable portrait of the family of three, featured a happy, jumping mila, and a creative list of things that made them “jump for joy” in 2015. they were then shipped out in grey envelopes to their closest family and friends to celebrate the season!
kim and blake wed last may at the exotic olowalu plantation house in lahaina, hawaii. kim, creator of eat/sleep/wear (a fashion blog), and her fiancé desired a modern, clean design that resembled their beautiful ceremony space. with a dark green color scheme, and appropriated pops of hawaiian yellow, their invitations were stacked and include subtle touches of palm and pineapples. together the cards were tied off with natural white jute twine and a kraft tag featuring a gold foil pineapple. delivered in crisp white envelopes, their guests received hand addressed gold metallic ink by mandy from myrtle & lloyd. we couldn’t be happier with the completion of this project, and are pleased to find our work, along with snippets of their ceremony, featured in the most recent issue of brides magazine! check out the article here!
in addition to their wedding stationery, we also designed a corresponding holiday card for the newlyweds. these cards, of 5×7 size, featured a stunning black and white photo overlaid by the prettiest hawaiian christmas greeting. along with a clean, thin, gold foil font, their holiday cards were mailed in gold envelopes with coordinating wrap mailing labels.
this project has been one of our favorites thus far, and we are thrilled that kim and one of our dearest photographer friends, alison conklin, are teaming up with brides to offer an AMAZING giveaway. enter for a chance to win a free engagement session with alison here!
pam and pat delivered holiday cards with a special announcement last year: the birth of their precious baby boy, ryan. the couple wished to share their exciting news while also sending holiday wishes, and they loved the idea of combining the two into one card, since their son was a precious gift last year. their traditional 5×7 formatted cards were created with the combo and featured personal pictures by erin joyce photography. with finalized details, the couple’s cards were then mailed to family and friends in metallic silver envelopes for a special touch. we are thrilled with the completion of this birth announcement, holiday card combo and congratulate pam and pat on the birth of their bundle of joy!
for her twenty fifteen card, alison conklin had honeycombs on her mind! we designed a coral and teal duplexed photo card that was bursting with letterpress polygons and fun facts from the family’s year in review. these square cards were mailed in bright, coral envelopes which were lined with a patterned liner featuring the family’s first names. victoria, of design house of moira, hand addressed each envelope in white ink using a beautiful thick brush stroke. these may be our favorite conklin greetings to date!
we thought this year’s connelly-newman realty holiday card was perfect to share on this snowy winter day! just like their twenty thirteen card, we partnered with an illustrator to create a custom painting for the front of the card. mandy curtis from myrtle & lloyd painted a cozy stone home glowing with warmth on a cold winter’s night. they selected the poem stopping by woods on a snowy evening, by robert frost, for the interior. the cards were mailed in a vibrant rust colored envelope and sealed with a custom mailing label.
this year, alison conklin and her family traveled to italy and while overseas the song rather be by clean bandit became their family anthem. alison felt the words of the song were so special and they truly encompassed how she felt about 2014. after a little collaboration with mandy from myrtle + lloyd, the song lyrics came to life and were printed in gold foil next to the cozy photograph of alison and geoff’s boys, jonas and moses. her olive green envelopes were letterpressed and lined with a swedish knit pattern and whimsically addressed by mandy in navy blue ink.
’tis the season for family photos + holiday card cheer!
