emily and megan are set to tie the knot this upcoming september amongst their dearest family and friends at the enchanting philadelphia horticulture center. to invite guests to their cermony, the couple used their venue and their favorite liberty floral fabric as inspiration. they envisioned the pairing of the floral print with a light and airy design accompanied by a fresh and bright color palette for their save the dates. with this in mind, we set out to produce a self-mailing postcard featuring hand-drawn fonts and a sweet monogram they drew themselves! we cannot wait to work on emily and megan’s invitation suite next!

so inspired: bast brothers garden center.

with spring now fully upon us, we’re finding inspiration to spruce up our sad gardens through bast brothers garden center. this brand new garden center, located in mullica hill, new jersey, features an astounding array of succulents, glazed pots, and amazing soy candles. chey finds herself frequenting this place often, since it’s not too far from her home, and used it as a source of gardening inspiration for her own yard this past weekend. she was pretty excited to get her hands in the dirt during the much-needed warm weather!

the intern explores: the philadelphia flower show.

this week’s adventure had me exploring the pennsylvania horticultural society‘s annual flower show. this event, which took place at the pennsylvania convention center in center city, philadelphia, featured an exquisite array of flowers and foliage perfect for the excitement of the springtime season that lies ahead. from elaborate sets to individual bouquets, this year’s theme of “exploring america”, honoring our nation’s national parks, was the perfect adventure to celebrate my spring break! while the event shuts down for the year on the 13th of march, i’d definitely advise those within the philadelphia area to consider checking it out! it’s amazing what wonderfully stunning displays were conceived through nature and a bit of creativity!

until next time.

work wednesday: alex + noah.

bride and groom to be, alex and noah, are set to wed this may at the enchanting fairmount park horticulture center in philadelphia. their venue, a modern exhibition hall and greenhouse, has proven to be the perfect backdrop for their desired botanical-themed ceremony. following their inspiration, they hoped to translate the loveliness of their theme onto save the date cards while still maintaining a clean design. it was with this that the perfect mixture of font styles printed on soft cotton paper in navy ink was created. guests’ addresses were also printed upon a light gray envelope to tie everything together. we are pleased with the creation of alex and noah’s save the date cards, and wish them a magical wedding day full of love and happiness!

happy things.

we adore flowers and believe they truly lend to the look and feel of a wedding day! it’s summertime and lucky for you brides there are endless options available. here are some pretty petaled palettes to inspire the look your going after…

{a} a girly and glamorous bouquet can be achieved through large fluffy flowers and vintage broaches, by dillon douglas design ; {b} succulents with peacock feathers strike a uniquely perfect balance, bouquet created by the bride of this fabulous school-themed wedding{c} these multi-colored ranunculus and tiny dotted wild flowers make this bouquet feel like an explosion of confetti, by merriment events; {d} an oversized protea makes a modern statement, bouquet by bows and arrows; {e} patterned pinwheels mixed with flowers are whimsical for a laid back beach wedding, bouquet handmade by the bride and her friends; {f} a simple and graphic bouquet created with only two things, all white peonies and striped ribbon, by e.g. geddes inc.; {g} poppies and peonies with lots of loose ribbons are fun for a fiesta, by bows and arrows.

so inspired: the philadelphia flower show.

hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! i (chey) spent sunday afternoon surrounded by palms, orchids, and the sound of relaxing hawaiian music at the philadelphia flower show. the flower show has always been a favorite past time of mine and this year’s theme was hawaii. the most impressive exhibits greeted you as you walked in the door — a favorite of mine was the towering tropical plant canopy (middle left). can you imagine walking down the wedding aisle beneath this?! another favorite was this tropical ombre table runner (above) by sullivan owen for ‘a wedding in the park’, a collaboration with starr events. what a gorgeous way to dress up your head table or couple’s table.

if you’re local i recommend stopping by the show during a week day to avoid some of the crowds. you’ll be rewarded with the most beautiful saturated colors and amazing scents that will do wonders for your winter blues!

a little something i brought home to adorn my desk. from linden hill gardens.
