so inspired: the cream event. nyc.

we were blown away by the cream of the crop at the cream event in nyc last week! this was by far the best wedding showcase we’ve seen to date!! we were joined by our friend and designer, sharon, who is curating her own wedding next year. the soiree took place in center 548, an incredible white warehouse in the middle of chelsea. we walked into a freight elevator and were greeted with real live elevator music by a duo from philly’s own elan artists who strummed away as we rode to the 2nd floor. the enormous elevator doors opened up into a fairy tale world of gold sparkles, patterns, champagne, and loads and loads of talent. we got lost in the dreamy party for a couple of hours and left with some fabulous ideas and of course a couple glittery gifts for ourselves from ban.do! check out more of the night and fun dance party in this video by tree of life films. extra special thanks to bash please for putting together such a memorable event!!

so inspired: the knot party at front + palmer.

last wednesday we attended the knot party at front and palmer in south kensington. this is one of the newest event sites in philadelphia. it was a former barrel factory that was renovated into the most unique loft space full of natural textures and artistic chandeliers. we couldn’t get enough of the chandeliers, they were each better than the next, some made from metal netting and others from metal spoons or glass bottles. we got to nibble on tasty treats from feast your eyes catering, sip on some very feminine st. germain cocktails sprinkled with flowers, and admire the most beautiful creations by robertson’s flowers. we hung out with good friends and made new friends. we really enjoyed the space and were lucky to see how an event would work in there. we highly recommend this venue to those of you looking for something a little different in the area!

greater philadelphia bridal expo at the fuge.

hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! we spent yesterday at the greater philadelphia bridal expo at the fuge, in warminster pennsylvania. it was quite impressive seeing this enormous industrial room come to life. they put on a great event that was not only full of wedding vendors, but showcased how an event could be held there. fabrics, lanterns, and acrobats hung from the 30 foot plus ceilings. flowy drapes and colorful lighting transformed the entire room into moody atmosphere. the original circular centrifuge is still in the center of the room and is great little spot for the bar and the top of it is an ideal stage for the band.

we enjoyed meeting all of you that stopped by our booth and look forward to working with you!

p.s. our adorable mini cupcakes on our table were made by dee’s mom of dot’s cakes

bridal expo.

we are participating in the 2012 GPM bridal expo this sunday, february 12th! it’s being held from 12pm-4pm at the fuge in warminster, pennsylvania. the bridal event is going to be a big deal — packed with giveaways, fashion shows, and a fun groom cake bake off. not only is the event itself a first of it’s kind for the area, but the space has a very cool story. the fuge, was a centrifuge for training fighter pilots in the 40’s and then astronauts in the 60’s, including neil armstrong and buzz aldrin. it’s such a unique venue — 12,000 square feet, completely circular, with a wonderful history.

come by our booth to see our latest creations and say hello! tickets are only $5 online and $8 at the door.

arts ballroom grand opening.

luncheon invitation.
evening invitation.

front of day + evening invitations.
some photos of the evening’s event…

we were honored to be the invitation sponsor for the grand opening of the arts ballroom on wednesday. what a stunning venue! we are both wishing we could get married all over again. the space is located in the heart of center city on locust, between broad and 13th inside the arts condominium. it’s grand and historical, yet very crisp and contemporary.
our invitation + food signage for the day + evening events captured steven starr events theme of art deco meets jane austen. this theme danced throughout the grand hall and ballroom beautifully with decor, food and music. our favorite part of the night was the dessert room! a large mirrored table filled the center of the room and was dripping with ornate candelabras and silver platters packed with tiny little tarts, then topped with towering bushels of baby’s breath and lilac. gorgeous!
wonderful to collaborate with…

soiree in the city.

we had a fabulous time at this spring’s soiree in the city! our display was a success — we felt that our cool little vintage shelf was a great way for attendees to get up close to the invites as if they were browsing in a little card shop. we met lots of great brides planning their autumn and winter weddings. not only were they all sweet ladies, but were all dressed sooo stylish! the mood was set by a couple different bands by elan artists — our favorite was this one pictured above — bon musique. the crab bisque and lemonade cocktails provided by drexelbrook were amazing! if you didn’t make it to this one, try to go to the next. there are some of the best planners, photographers, bakers and jewelry makers in the biz all in one place!

matters of the heart.

we had a wonderful time at alison conklin’s gallery opening at trust last week! the beautiful space was a perfect backdrop for alison’s photos of love + friendship. the grand white space looked so pretty dotted with people wearing red in honor of heart disease. there was a raffle with some great prizes benefiting the american heart association — i (cheyenne) was hoping for the cole hamels’ signed baseball — no luck! but danielle came home with a brown betty gift certificate — lucky girl! congrats alison + geoff!!

the lemon ball 2011.

on saturday, january 15th we attended the 5th annual alex’s lemonade stand foundation lemon ball. for the last three years we have been the design co-chairs on the lemon ball committee. we have designed everything from the save the date, the invitation package and all event materials and signage. it was a great night in a brand new venue, the loews philadelphia hotel. with the silent auction, the raffle for the $18,000 diamond bracelet (which we sadly didn’t win!), the butterfly wish fountain, the live auction, and the dance party on the bright yellow dance floor at the end of the evening…it was a huge success for such a great cause! thank you to all of the other chairs and sponsors for making it another great year. it couldn’t have happened without you. we also would like to give a huge thank you to our design committee, allie + samantha, we cannot thank you enough! love you ladies!!
