. . . or at least 12 amazing cupcakes. these sweet treats were delivered in a pretty pink box to my front door from georgetown cupcakes. after watching their show on tlc, dc cupcakes, i couldn’t wait to have one for myself! so i ordered dozen and was not disappointed! if you are a cupcake connoisseur, like myself, these are a must try!

thanks to mother nature, we had a snow day yesterday! a cozy morning inside followed by an afternoon of sledding and making mila’s first snowman (complete with a carrot nose!) wish everyday could be a snow day!

but first, let me take a deskie.

this morning i set up my brand new marble + gold foil desk calendar from paper-source (a gift from my dear friend kathryn, owner of life in motion + nine li9ns). i just love it’s little wooden easel! little by little i am getting myself organized in this new year. i love having a calm desk. you can really be so much more productive with a little less clutter + a little lavender flame!

new year…new insta-posts! mila + i made a resolution to paint more art this year…especially because santa brought her a fabulous new watercolor set. what do you hope to get out of twenty seventeen?

so inpsired: kenzie jaws.

with dee’s studio starting their competition season and mila starting ballet for the very first time (that’s her in the photo!), we couldn’t help but find ourselves so inspired by kenzie jaws’ apparel for kids in the midst of dance mania! kenzie jaws, started by a mother of three from the pacific northwest, features kenzie’s own hand-drawn designs screenprinted upon adorable apparel that has us leaping for joy! not only would her designs up any cool kid’s wardrobe, but they just happened to be perfect for mila’s dance classes! how cute is this “tiny dancer” leotard she’s wearing above?

work wednesday: dee + pat holiday 2015.

for the 2015 holiday season, dee and pat teamed up with photographer alison conklin to create a personalized card to send to loved ones. their double-sided 5×7 cards, which included an adorable portrait of the family of three, featured a happy, jumping mila, and a creative list of things that made them “jump for joy” in 2015. they were then shipped out in grey envelopes to their closest family and friends to celebrate the season!

work wednesday: mila rae’s first birthday.

with valentine’s day quickly approaching, we are happy to share miss mila’s first birthday party invitation! i (dee) just love the wizard of oz and used that as my inspiration for her somewhere over the rainbow party theme. i designed a flat, double-sided card full off happy hearts, rainbows, arrows and hand-drawn fonts. our friend ralph of pink bike ralph, screen printed them with the most beautiful shimmery gold metallic ink i have ever seen. i tied them all with rainbow or red ruby slipper ribbon and then mailed them in red envelopes which i hand addressed in metallic gold ink. i can’t wait to share her big day with you all!
