work wednesday: connelly-newman realty holiday card.

we thought this year’s connelly-newman realty holiday card was perfect to share on this snowy winter day! just like their twenty thirteen card, we partnered with an illustrator to create a custom painting for the front of the card. mandy curtis from myrtle & lloyd painted a cozy stone home glowing with warmth on a cold winter’s night. they selected the poem stopping by woods on a snowy evening, by robert frost, for the interior. the cards were mailed in a vibrant rust colored envelope and sealed with a custom mailing label.

work wednesday: rachel + ron.

rachel and ron celebrated their nuptials back in november at their garden-fairytale-destination wedding in new orleans, louisiana. their ceremony was held at corpus christi-epiphany church and the good times rolled into their reception at the pavilion of two sisters. we really enjoyed creating their iconic new orleans save the date last year, however, they requested their invitation suite to have a more romantic and formal vibe. with a similar color palette of plum and olive green, we designed their stacked package which allowed us to overlap rustic magnolias with other enchanted patterns. their letterpress invitation was a combination of formal and handwritten scripts decorated with hand-drawn flourishes. they selected an rsvp postcard and a folded information card which housed the remaining details plus a custom map of the french quarter to encourage their guests to explore. we finished the package with natural and metallic gold baker’s twine and a custom monogrammed tag. their layered bundle was mailed to guests in a gold glitter lined kraft envelope and hand addressed in metallic plum ink by the fabulous mandy from myrtle & lloyd. we were also asked to create a few day of pieces including these kraft paper menus and over-sized wedding programs.

we wish the newlyweds a happily ever after and look forward to sharing the big day in a few weeks.

work wednesday: stephanie + marc.

stephanie and marc were wed on the last number sequential date of the year, 12.13.14, at the upscale crystal tea room in philadelphia. as much as they loved their playful save the dates, they requested a formal and sophisticated silver and plum invitation suite. the letterpress invitation was adhered to a metallic titanium pocket fold. the rehearsal dinner invitation, rsvp postcard and details card were printed on a metallic cover stock and neatly stacked in the side pocket. the pocket was wrapped with a beautiful two-toned satin ribbon and sealed with a tag with their fabulous date. the package was mailed to guests in silver lined black envelopes which were hand addressed in silver ink by danica from the butler’s pantry.

in addition, we also designed stephanie’s wedding shower invitations.  she had a brunch at valanni and asked that the design reflect the restaurant as well as her wedding day materials. we decided on a long, tall format adorned with geometric pattern and elegant fonts. each was mailed in a metallic silver envelope and sealed with a custom printed mailing label.

we wish these newlyweds the happiest of holidays and an amazing new year as husband and wife in their new home!

work wednesday: conklin family holiday card.

this year, alison conklin and her family traveled to italy and while overseas the song rather be by clean bandit became their family anthem. alison felt the words of the song were so special and they truly encompassed how she felt about 2014. after a little collaboration with mandy from myrtle + lloyd, the song lyrics came to life and were printed in gold foil next to the cozy photograph of alison and geoff’s boys, jonas and moses. her olive green envelopes were letterpressed and lined with a swedish knit pattern and whimsically addressed by mandy in navy blue ink.

work wednesday: jenny + rick.

jenny + rick will be getting married this november at the kimmel center in philadelphia. jenny requested a very elegant and traditional invitation that would wow her guests here in the united states as well as overseas. she asked that we work with an embellished silk folio that she custom ordered from thailand. the invitation was printed with gold thermography onto metallic paper and adhered to a custom printed gold metallic backer. the side pockets held the coordinating response card, tea ceremony card and details card with custom map of philadelphia. the invitation was wrapped in a glittery tissue, sealed with a monogram sicker, then placed in a kraft box and wrapped with a hand-addressed label.

work wednesday: rachel + christopher.

rachel + christopher were married on the aqua azul yacht on a foggy september night. their family and friends celebrated with them as they sipped on champagne and viewed our lady of liberty and the sparkling manhattan skyline. rachel and chris were going for a very relaxed look with their invitations so that their guests would feel that they were going to a party and not necessarily a wedding. we used a mix of bright colors and casual fonts to lay out the playful wording they provided. we hinted at the evening on a boat with nautical stripes and fun sayings like ‘all aboard’ and ‘tying the knot’. the invite, rsvp postcard, and details card were held together with an orange baker’s twine and mailed out in a white envelope addressed in a mix of gray fonts by the butler’s pantry.

work wednesday: leigh + tina.

leigh + tina will be tying the knot at the beautiful sapphire ocean club in tropical puerto vallarta, mexico this november! we were honored to design these modern sea-inspired invitations for their big day. they wanted the invite package to feel light and airy like a beach. leigh requested ‘fun’ and tina requested ‘modern’ — so we were determined to strike that balance. they came to us with a fresh color palette of coral, plum and pale aqua. we kept the design clean and simple with pops of color and a delicate wave-inspired pattern that flowed throughout the cards. the invite, reply card, and details card were stacked and bundled together with bright coral twine. the invitations were mailed in white envelopes and hand addressed in coordinating plum ink by myrtle & lloyd calligraphy.

work wednesday: vicky + edward.

vicky and edward were married this past weekend at the luxurious ballroom at park lane in cleveland, ohio. we collaborated with danica, from the butler’s pantry to create a complete custom calligraphy invitation suite. we used danica’s stunning handwriting as artwork for the entire package. the letterpress invitation, rsvp card, reception card and accommodation card were all printed in a beautiful, bold red ink. each package was tied with a soft peach silk ribbon. the mailing envelopes were addressed in gold metallic ink. in addition, we also used danica’s calligraphy services for vicky’s die cut place card tags. we cannot wait to share the photos from their big day!

work wednesday: maria + ross.

maria + ross are counting down the days until their wedding celebration! they will be wed this saturday at the manor house at commonwealth in horsham, pennsylvania. they requested a photo save the date card and just loved the idea of using an eclectic mix of fonts along with their engagement photo. for their invitations, they envisioned a more formal design with geometric patterns. with their soft palette of coral, navy and gold, we created a stacked package that included the invitation, mad-libs rsvp postcard and accommodation card. everything was held together with a gold chevron belly band and finished with gold metallic twine and a monogram tag. they arrived to their wedding guests in navy envelopes that were hand addressed in gold ink by the fabulous danica from the butler’s pantry. we wish this super cute couple the happiest day ever on saturday!

this week: ashley + michael.

ashley + michael will be wed this september at the reeds at shelter haven in stone harbor, new jersey. as much as they loved their vintage postcard save the date, they were looking for something a bit more formal for their invitation package. we had plenty of fabulous inspiration for their wedding style thanks to their event planner, sara from confetti & co. each piece of their stacked package was layered with classic black and white nautical stripes. their invitation was a combination of letterpress and gold foil (yes, gold foil!) as was their mad-libs rsvp postcard. we also designed a corresponding welcome dinner invite and folded details card with a custom map that showed various points between stone harbor and avalon. everything was held together with a blush pink belly band and finished with black and white bakers twine and a tag. the stacked package was placed into a kraft glitter-lined envelope and hand addressed by mandy from myrtle and lloyd. we loved everything about this package! we cannot wait to see what sara and the soon-to-be mr. and mrs. have dreamed up for their big day!
