jill and william professed their love beneath the PA-NJ bridge at the lambertville station this past may. this location meant a lot to them as a couple originally from each of the bordering states. the historic seafoam green new hope-lambertville bridge had to make an appearance into the suite. mandy, of myrtle and lloyd, painted a beautiful, custom watercolor illustration of the bridge which we had printed on translucent vellum. we used this artwork as an overlay on top of the invitation suite which allowed some of the invitation elements to peek through. the suite was finished with a playful criss cross wrapping with natural twine. the romantic large, loopy names on the invitation were the handiwork of mary ellen, of calligraphy by mary ellen, which were also used on the custom return address stamp. the invitations arrived to wedding guests in navy envelopes hand addressed with rose gold metallic ink also by mary ellen. we loved collaborating with our friendors to create such a personal invitation!

creating anything should never be stressful (at least in my opinion), so when i find that it is becoming stressful what do i do? i create more! i didn’t have any ideas, so i just started with lines… and lines became patterns. next thing i knew i had a full page of beautiful pattern.

happy tuesday loveleighs! today is the day i tell you a little more about the postable series i have been working on. this badly wrapped cactus is a snippet of one out of three birthday cards. all three use the same color and pattern and are just as fun as this preview! don’t worry, the other two will be revealed soon enough.

this past week i took a moment to appreciate things that do not come instantaneously. i sat down in front of a book shelf and committed to reading something (yes- i consider art books reading). flipping through pages of famous artworks may not have been as fast paced as scrolling through my instagram feed but i loved my time relaxing and not being on the go.

life of lily: creative in the kitchen.

creativity can happen anywhere and this week it happened in my kitchen. i stopped at my local farm stand, maple acres, to buy fresh and local produce. the vibrancy of fruits and vegetables inspired me to spend the day in my kitchen seeing what i could make. i settled for the perfect summer soup, gazpacho.

we are back with what may have been one of our favorite projects of the year! aidan max was called to the torah on may 5th, aka, cinco de aidan! we gave a hint of the theme and what was to come in his save the date, but now it was time for a fiesta! papel picado { mexican cut paper party banners } became our inspiration for his laser cut wood veneer invitation. the ornate walnut square invite was adhered to a cobalt blue half pocket. the detail of the cut on the wood was just incredible, even down to the mini sombrero! three inserts { rsvp postcard, details card and kid pick up card } designed with accent colors of green and grey all stacked neatly in the back pocket. the rsvp postcard was even adorned with a custom monogram stamp. this little party arrived to guests in charcoal grey mailing envelopes with round mailing labels and finished with succulent postage!

holy guacomole, the fun did not stop with the invitations, we carried everything over to the day of the celebration. we created color coded menus for their different food stations, signage for their tequila luge and signature cocktail, custom cocktail napkins, water bottles, thank you notes and even escort card flags that were pierced through a lime slice which sat on a festive, miniature shot glass . . . how cute is that?!

after two mitzvah celebrations { yep, we worked with aidan’s sister, brooke }, we will totally miss working with this family. they are master party planners who never leave out a single detail!

happy tuesday! here it is, the beginning stages of a new project, also known as: the messy stages. i am currently working on a series of greeting cards for postable. can you guess what they’re for? i’ll give you a hint, it has something to do with that cute little cactus. can’t wait to share the rest!
